- Buijs laments the growing influence of agents and lack of player commitment.
Fortuna Sittard's head coach, Danny Buijs, has voiced strong disapproval of midfielder Luka Tunjic's abrupt disappearance from the team. Buijs stated that Tunjic, who had been actively training and playing recently, suddenly declared himself unavailable, leaving the club bewildered.
Buijs suspects the midfielder's absence is linked to his contract situation and a potential transfer, speculating that Tunjic may currently be in Germany. The coach expressed dismay at the complex involvement of external parties, such as agents, in player movements and contractual matters.
Buijs highlighted a perceived imbalance in the player-club relationship, noting that while clubs fulfill their financial obligations by paying salaries on time, they often don't receive the expected commitment in return. He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the current strong group of players at Fortuna.
