Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman is now consulting for the Miami Dolphins as they seek a new general manager. This advisory role, reported by CBS Sports, will see Aikman provide league-wide insights to aid the franchise in finding a front-office leader.
Miami parted ways with their previous general manager, Chris Grier, in October after nearly a decade at the helm. Grier, who had been with the Dolphins since 2010 and served as GM since 2016, was dismissed following a 2-7 start to the season. Champ Kelly has been acting as the interim GM.
Aikman, a renowned analyst for ESPN's "Monday Night Football" and a three-time Super Bowl winner with the Dallas Cowboys, has expressed openness to front-office roles in the past, though he acknowledges the steep learning curve involved at this stage of his career.
