The world of NBA broadcasting is home to legendary play-by-play announcers whose voices have become synonymous with the game's most iconic moments. Marv Albert, a figure whose calls date back to the Willis Reed game and include John Paxson's title-clinching shot and LeBron James's 2009 buzzer-beater, set a high standard.

His legacy has inspired a new generation of announcers. As the NBA playoffs approach their climax, this analysis ranks the top five current play-by-play voices on NBA broadcasts. Each brings a unique flair, from Bob Ruocco's "you bet" to Steve Collins's "Hum-diddly-dee."

Kevin Harlan, known for calls like "LeBron James, with no regard for human life!" and capturing Kawhi Leonard's four-bounce shot, has shifted to a lighter schedule. Ian Eagle, a prominent voice for Amazon Prime, is celebrated for calls such as "he's not human" and "that's a man's jam."

Mike Breen's signature "Bang!" call, particularly his rare "double bang," is deeply ingrained in NBA history, famously used for Steph Curry's and Donte DiVincenzo's crucial shots. His calls are eagerly anticipated as the Eastern Conference and NBA Finals unfold.
