Summary
- Michigan has defeated Ohio State in 4 consecutive seasons
- 4-star safety Gavin Williams to visit Michigan for Nov. 30 Ohio State game
- Williams is the No. 154 overall 2027 recruit and No. 13 safety

As of August 2, 2025, the Michigan Wolverines football team has enjoyed a remarkable run of success against their bitter rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Over the past four seasons, the Wolverines have defeated the Buckeyes, winning three Big Ten Championships and a National Championship during that span.
This recent dominance over Ohio State has coincided with improved play in Michigan's secondary, led by former players and current NFL defenders Mike Sainristil and Will Johnson, among others. Now, the Wolverines have received word of a potential boost to their defensive backfield for years to come.
According to Rivals recruiting insider Aidan Sen, 4-star safety Gavin Williams, the No. 154 overall prospect in the 2027 class and the 13th-ranked safety, is set to visit Michigan on November 30th for the annual Ohio State game. Williams, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect from La Verne, California, holds offers from several top programs, including USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Ohio State itself.
With this high-profile visit, Michigan is positioning itself to potentially land one of the most sought-after defensive backs in the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Wolverines currently have one hard commitment for that class, offensive lineman Louis Esposito, the son of Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito.
