Titans QB Ward Injured on TD Dive
4 Jan
Summary
- Rookie quarterback Cam Ward suffered a right shoulder injury Sunday.
- Ward sustained the injury while scoring a rushing touchdown.
- Brandon Allen will take over as quarterback for the rest of the game.

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward sustained a significant right shoulder injury that will sideline him for the remainder of Sunday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The injury occurred on Tennessee's very first offensive possession when Ward executed a designed run and dove for the end zone.
Ward's dive for a touchdown resulted in him landing awkwardly on his right shoulder, with Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun falling on him. After a slow recovery on the sideline, Ward was evaluated in the injury tent and subsequently ruled out, ending his streak of playing every offensive snap as a rookie.
Prior to his exit, Ward had successfully initiated Tennessee's offense, completing all three of his passes for 52 yards and adding a touchdown run. Brandon Allen, who had not played in the first 17 weeks, entered the game as his replacement and will manage the offense for the remainder of the contest.
