Titans Fire Head Coach Callahan After Dismal 1-5 Start

On October 13, 2025, the Tennessee Titans announced the firing of head coach Brian Callahan after the team's 1-5 start to the season. Callahan, who was hired in 2024, had a disappointing tenure, going just 4-19 as the Titans' head coach.

The 2025 season had been especially rough for Callahan and the Titans. The team began the year with a loss to the Denver Broncos, in which Callahan made a crucial mistake by not challenging a catch that should have been ruled a completion. This was followed by a blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts, where the Titans missed a chance to get within 10 points due to a delay of game penalty.

Callahan later handed off play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, but the move did not pay off, as the Titans were shut out 26-0 by the Houston Texans in their first game with Hardegree calling the plays. The Titans' offense, led by 2025 first-overall draft pick Cam Ward, has struggled to score, managing more than 20 points in a game just once this season.

Callahan's dismissal comes after the Titans surprisingly parted ways with former head coach Mike Vrabel, who had led the team to two division titles and three playoff appearances, following the 2023 season. The Titans are now searching for a new leader to turn the team around and get their season back on track.
