The San Jose Earthquakes are resuming their MLS campaign today after a two-month hiatus. The team, currently second in the Western Conference, welcomes back star striker Timo Werner. Werner had been sidelined since May due to a hamstring injury.
Werner's return is a significant boost for the Earthquakes, especially after their strong start to the 2026 season. He joined the club in January and has already made a substantial impact, scoring four goals and registering four assists in nine matches. His availability for today's match against Orlando City is confirmed, though his starting status remains uncertain.
During Werner's absence, Preston Judd stepped up for San Jose, notably scoring a brace in their last MLS game—a 3-1 victory over the Portland Timbers. The team will now look to Werner and Judd to lead their offensive charge as they aim to maintain their strong position in the standings.
