Texas Tech QB Sidelined with Recurring Leg Injury
18 Oct
Summary
- Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton injured again
- Morton will only be available in an emergency role for upcoming game
- Morton has come out of 3 games this season due to right leg injuries

As of October 19th, 2025, Texas Tech's starting quarterback Behren Morton is dealing with another right leg injury that will limit his availability for this weekend's game against Arizona State. Morton, who has already missed time this season due to similar issues, will only be able to play in an emergency role for the seventh-ranked Red Raiders.
The latest setback occurred last week when Morton was sacked in the second quarter of Texas Tech's 42-17 victory over Kansas. This injury is reportedly similar to a hyperextended right knee he sustained in the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Morton has now come out of three games this year due to right leg problems.
Despite the injury concerns, Morton has still put up impressive numbers so far, completing 104 of 152 passes (68.4%) for 1,501 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. However, the Red Raiders will need to rely more on their backup quarterback as they prepare to face a tough Arizona State team this Saturday.
