13 Sep
Summary
- Texas Southern travels to El Paso for a Saturday night football game.
- The Tigers are 1-1 after splitting their first two games of the season.
- UTEP is playing their home opener after an opening loss on the road.
The Texas Southern Tigers are set to face the UTEP Miners in El Paso this Saturday, September 12, at the Sun Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on Mountain West+.
Texas Southern enters the game with a 1-1 record, having won their season opener against North Carolina Central before losing to Prairie View A&M. This matchup represents a challenging road test against UTEP, a program that has won all three previous encounters between the two schools.
UTEP, currently 0-1 after a substantial road defeat to No. 10 Oklahoma, looks to regroup during their 2026 home opener. While UTEP has dominated the series historically, including a decisive win in 2007, Texas Southern aims for a significant FCS-over-FBS victory.
