Texas Rises to No. 1 After Stunning Ohio State Comeback

Texas has ascended to the No. 1 position in the AP Top 25 college football poll, driven by a remarkable comeback victory over Ohio State. The Longhorns erased a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to secure a 24-23 win, their most significant fourth-quarter rally against a top-ranked opponent. This victory marks the first time since October 13, 2024, that Texas has held the top spot in the regular season.

Oregon suffered a dramatic fall, plummeting 15 spots to No. 21 after losing to Oklahoma State. Michigan, initially outside the Top 25, re-entered the poll at No. 19 following their close win against Oklahoma. The Sooners themselves dropped 13 places to No. 24.

Georgia and Notre Dame maintained their second and third positions, respectively. Indiana moved up to No. 4, and Miami climbed to No. 5, rounding out the top five. The top 10 also includes Ohio State, LSU, Mississippi, Texas A&M, and Alabama. Ohio State's slide to No. 6 is their lowest ranking since entering the 2024 College Football Playoff at No. 6.

The Southeastern Conference leads with nine ranked teams, while the Big Ten follows with seven. The ACC and Big 12 each have four ranked teams. Notable upcoming matchups include No. 7 LSU at No. 8 Mississippi and No. 22 Houston at No. 13 Texas Tech.
