The Texas Rangers are positioning themselves for a strong postseason push by eyeing strategic acquisitions ahead of the August 3 trade deadline. Currently leading the American League West after the All-Star break, the Rangers aim to replicate their 2023 championship form.

To address offensive needs, the Rangers are reportedly interested in Luis Arraez, a highly consistent hitter currently with the San Francisco Giants. Arraez's .320 batting average could significantly boost a Rangers offense that ranks 22nd in runs scored.

The team also recognizes the need for pitching reinforcements. Inconsistent starting pitching and bullpen struggles are areas of focus. Potential targets include Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins, whose 3.38 ERA is better than any Rangers starter, and relievers Luke Weaver and A.J. Minter from the New York Mets, both boasting sub-2 ERAs.

Further strengthening the bullpen could involve acquiring Tyler Rogers from the Toronto Blue Jays, who has a 1.58 ERA. For added power, the Rangers might consider Hunter Goodman of the Colorado Rockies, who has hit 31 home runs in 2026, providing a much-needed impact hitter to energize the team's playoff aspirations.
