As the Texas Longhorns prepare for the start of the 2025 season, the team is not only focused on their upcoming matchup against Ohio State, but they are also actively recruiting for their 2027 class. According to reports, the Longhorns are making a strong push to land four-star wide receiver Tre Moore, a highly touted prospect from Pflugerville, Texas.
Moore, who currently ranks as the 18th-best player at his position and the 18th-ranked player in the state of Texas according to 247Sports' Composite rankings, is considered one of the top targets for the Longhorns in the 2027 class. The Weiss High School standout had a breakout sophomore campaign, recording 38 receptions for 562 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games.
The Longhorns' pursuit of Moore is not surprising, as the program has recently established itself as a premier destination for elite wide receiver talent. Over the past two NFL Drafts, Texas has seen two of its wide receivers selected in the first round, with Matthew Golden going to the Green Bay Packers in 2025 and Xavier Worthy being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. Additionally, the Longhorns had Adonai Mitchell and Jordan Whittington drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, further solidifying their reputation for developing top-tier wide receiver talent.
As the Longhorns continue to build towards the 2025 season and beyond, the recruitment of Tre Moore will be a key focus for the coaching staff. With the program's track record of success and the opportunity to play for a perennial contender, the Longhorns are well-positioned to land one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2027 class.
