Three horses have clocked a co-fastest eighth mile in :10 1/5 during the under tack show preceding the Texas 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale. This preview event took place at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, with 74 juveniles set to go under the hammer on Wednesday.
The young horses ran into a headwind that gradually increased from 10 to approximately 15 miles per hour. Sales Director Foster Bridewell reported robust interest from both local and online buyers, noting a diverse catalog.
The impressive :10 1/5 clocking was first achieved by Texas Splendor, a Texas-bred filly by Tapiture. This speed was later matched by a Kentucky-bred colt, an unnamed juvenile by Known Agenda.
Additionally, Bling on the Beast, an Arkansas-bred gelding by The Big Beast, also recorded the co-fastest time. The auction is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. CDT at Lone Star Park.
