7 Aug
Summary
- Texans hired Nick Caley as new offensive coordinator
- Quarterback C.J. Stroud compares Caley to Rams' Sean McVay
- Texans added WRs Higgins, Noel, and RB Chubb in offseason

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the Houston Texans are poised to take a significant step forward on offense. Following their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round last season, the Texans made a change at offensive coordinator, bringing in Nick Caley to replace Bobby Slowik.
Caley, who previously worked on the coaching staffs of the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots, is tasked with elevating the Texans' offense led by quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud, who has guided the team to back-to-back AFC South titles in his first two seasons, sees a lot of similarities between Caley and Rams head coach Sean McVay.
"He's very Sean McVay like. When I met Sean last year, it's very similar to what I get now," Stroud said of Caley's high-energy approach.
The Texans have also bolstered their offensive arsenal this offseason. They drafted wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, while also acquiring veteran wideout Christian Kirk in a trade. Additionally, the team signed former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, who could play a significant role with Joe Mixon currently sidelined due to injury.
With a new offensive coordinator, a talented quarterback, and an improved supporting cast, the Texans are poised to take their offense to new heights in the 2025 season as they aim for their third consecutive division title.
