Texans: Stroud & Anderson Contract Talks Underway?

As the NFL offseason progresses, the Houston Texans are preparing for crucial contract negotiations with two foundational players: quarterback C.J. Stroud and edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. Both individuals are now eligible to sign rookie-scale extensions, signaling a potential long-term commitment from the organization.

General Manager Nick Caserio acknowledged the importance of both players but offered little detail on specific contract timelines during recent media availability. He emphasized that the team handles such matters internally and will proceed "one day at a time" to build the roster.

While the Texans have ample time before free agency, it is anticipated that contract resolutions for at least one of these stars could emerge before the next season. Anderson, a recently crowned All-Pro, is considered the more probable candidate to finalize an extension in the immediate future, securing Houston's defensive cornerstone.
