Texans Assemble Blazing-Fast Receiving Corps, Leaving Defenses Scrambling
31 Jul
Summary
- Texans' offense running at "Daytona 500" pace in practice
- Receiver corps described as "one of the fastest" ever seen
- Rookies Higgins and Noel boast impressive combine speed numbers

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, the Houston Texans are making it clear that their offense is going to be playing at a breakneck pace. According to safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, the Texans' offense is "running fast every play" in practice, likening it to "the Daytona 500."
The key to this high-speed attack is the Texans' receiving corps, which Gardner-Johnson describes as "one of the fastest" he's ever seen. Leading the way is Nico Collins, who is considered one of the best size-speed combinations at the position league-wide. But he'll be joined by a host of new speedsters, including Christian Kirk, who the team acquired from the Jaguars.
The Texans also added a pair of impressive rookie receivers in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, both of whom put up eye-catching numbers at the NFL Combine. Higgins, a 6-foot-4, 214-pound target, ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash, while the smaller but explosive Noel clocked a 4.39 and led all combine receivers in the broad jump and bench press.
With this infusion of speed and talent, the Texans are poised to overwhelm opposing defenses with their high-octane attack in 2025. Quarterback C.J. Stroud and the rest of the offense will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 campaign and establish the Texans as one of the most dynamic offenses in the league.
