Arthur Fery has extended a friendly invitation to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, suggesting they join him for a tennis game. Fery, who celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday, made history at Wimbledon this year as the first British wildcard to reach the semi-finals.
Before attending the Gentlemen's Singles final, the Princess of Wales spoke with Fery. She acknowledged his "fantastic" performance and told him it was a "very impressive" run, despite his loss to World No 2 Alexander Zverev.
The Princess had previously watched Fery play on Court 18, an appearance that coincided with his victory to advance. She expressed her enjoyment of his game, and Fery shared that playing on Centre Court was a "really special" experience for him.
Fery also mentioned that the entire Wales family are tennis fans and that he offered to hit balls with the children if they were interested. Prince William also congratulated Fery on his tournament, calling it a "great tournament" and noting his historic achievement.
The Wales family, known tennis enthusiasts, were later seen at the Centre Court for the final match, where Prince George and Princess Charlotte were present. The Princess of Wales had also attended the Ladies' Final the previous day, presenting the championship trophy.
