Quentin Folliot, a 26-year-old French tennis player, has been suspended for 20 years by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) for his deep involvement in match-fixing. An investigation uncovered 27 violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program, revealing Folliot as a key player within a syndicate orchestrating corrupt matches.
The ITIA's findings detailed Folliot's role in contriving match outcomes, accepting money to underperform, and conspiring with others. He was also charged with providing insider information and obstructing the integrity agency's investigation. This extensive ban, effective from May 2024, will conclude in May 2044, by which time Folliot will be 44 years old.
As part of the disciplinary action, Folliot is required to pay a substantial $70,000 fine and return more than $44,000 in illicit gains. The ITIA has prohibited him from participating in, coaching at, or attending any tennis events sanctioned by its members or national associations during his suspension.
