Summary

- Tennessee seeks a new shortstop for the 2027 season.
The Tennessee Volunteers baseball program is facing a significant roster change as shortstop Manny Marin has entered the transfer portal. This move comes as a surprise, with Marin having two seasons of eligibility left.
The team has elected to pursue a different starting shortstop for the 2027 season. Marin's offensive production last season included a .291 batting average, nine home runs, and 43 RBIs across 55 games.
Despite his strong defensive performance, with only five errors in 2026, Tennessee appears to be prioritizing offensive output from the shortstop position. Marin's departure signifies a strategic shift for the program.
