On the fifth and final day of the third Test between India and England at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, tensions boiled over as Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and English pacer Brydon Carse were involved in a heated exchange following a collision on the pitch.
The incident occurred during the first session of play, as Jadeja and his batting partner Nitish Kumar Reddy were attempting to guide India to a challenging 193-run target set by the hosts. With the visitors struggling at 82-7, Jadeja and Reddy were the last hope for India, and the veteran all-rounder was playing a crucial innings.
As Jadeja played a cut shot and took off for a quick double, he collided with Carse in the middle of the pitch. The England bowler was left fuming, and the two players confronted each other, with Jadeja explaining that he had not seen Carse while running. The on-field umpires and several players, including England captain Ben Stokes, stepped in to defuse the situation.
The altercation added to the tense atmosphere at Lord's, which had already seen previous incidents between the two teams. Earlier in the match, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj had been fined for his aggressive celebration after dismissing England's Ben Duckett.
Despite the clash, Jadeja remained unbeaten on 17 as India fought to chase down the target set by England. However, the visitors were ultimately reduced to 112-8 by the end of the first session, still 81 runs short of the victory.
