39 Days to Kickoff: Honoring TCU's All-Time Greats

With 39 days remaining until the 2026 season opener in Dublin against North Carolina, TCU football is celebrating former player milestones. This countdown features athletes whose jersey numbers align with the days left until kickoff.

Kicker Griffin Kell is recognized for his pivotal game-winning kick against Baylor in 2022. He earned All-Big 12 honors twice and finished his career with 60 field goals and 185 extra points over five seasons with the Horned Frogs.

Linebacker Jason Phillips, a four-time All-Mountain West Conference selection, was a formidable defensive player. He accumulated 315 tackles and 38.5 tackles for loss during his collegiate career before being drafted into the NFL.

Phillips later returned to TCU as a graduate assistant and coach, contributing to the development of future NFL players. His significant contributions to the program were acknowledged with his induction into the TCU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018.
