Five members of the Syracuse University men's lacrosse senior class were selected in the recent Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) draft. This significant event for the program occurred just before the team's senior day honoring ceremony.
Joey Spallina, a prominent player who is on the verge of breaking Syracuse's all-time points record, was the highest-drafted Orange player, going third overall to the Maryland Whipsnakes. Spallina has amassed over 300 points and 130 goals throughout his four-year career.
Following Spallina, Michael Leo was picked sixth overall by the California Redwoods, having scored 102 goals and collected 43 ground balls as a midfielder. Billy Dwan III was selected 11th in the second round by the Maryland Whipsnakes, contributing on defense with 50 caused turnovers and 98 ground balls.
Luke Rhoa, known for his long-range shooting prowess, was chosen 16th in the second round by the New York Atlas. Rounding out the Syracuse draftees, Dante Bowen was selected by the California Redwoods in the fourth round with the 30th pick.
