22 Aug
Summary
- Spartans draw 1-1 with Partick Thistle in SWPL return.
- Rangers secured a 4-1 victory after a slow start.
- Defending champions Hearts scored six against Aberdeen.
Spartans have returned to the SWPL, marking their reentry with a promising 1-1 draw against Partick Thistle. Their next fixture presents a considerable hurdle as they are scheduled to face Rangers on Sunday.
Following their Champions League exit, Rangers experienced a slow start in their match against Montrose, being held to a 1-1 scoreline until the final 20 minutes. However, their superior quality eventually prevailed, leading to a decisive 4-1 victory. Spartans will need to perform at their absolute peak and hope for some luck to achieve a positive outcome against Rangers.
Elsewhere in the league, Aberdeen will host Glasgow City, who are aiming to recover from a narrow opening-day loss to Celtic. Defending champions Hearts are set to play Motherwell, having recently achieved a dominant 6-0 win against Aberdeen. Celtic will welcome Montrose, while Partick Thistle hosts Hibs, who secured a commanding 7-0 victory over Motherwell last weekend.
