Subaru Crosstrek Conquers Rebelle Rally's Toughest Terrain

The Rebelle Rally, the longest competitive off-road rally in the United States, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025. The event, which covers over 2,000 kilometers across California and Nevada, challenges teams of two women to navigate using only a map and compass, without the aid of GPS or cell phones.

This year, Emme Hall returned to the rally as a driver, with Kendra Miller as her navigator, in a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness. Despite the Crosstrek's lack of fancy technology, the duo managed to secure a third-place finish in the X-Cross class and even won a stage. Their success was aided by the rally's high-tech infrastructure, including a mobile microgrid that powered the event's operations and live tracking system.

While other vehicles with advanced electronic features completed the rally, the analog Crosstrek proved its mettle, navigating the challenging terrain with the help of a 2-inch lift and upgraded tires. The rally's focus on accurate navigation over speed was a true test of the team's skills, and their achievement is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Rebelle Rally.
