Summary
- Munster's agent denies speculation of a move to Perth Bears
- Munster has no plans to leave Melbourne Storm before contract ends
- Storm coach Bellamy open to Munster's early exit, but no request made

As of August 7th, 2025, Cameron Munster, the star five-eighth of the Melbourne Storm, is set to remain with the club for the foreseeable future. This comes amid growing speculation that the 31-year-old Queensland player was being heavily linked with a lucrative move to the incoming Perth Bears, the NRL's 18th team.
However, Munster's agent, Braith Anasta, has firmly dismissed these rumors, stating that the player has no desire to leave Melbourne, and the Storm have no plans to let him go. Anasta was quoted on NRL 360, saying, "Cameron doesn't want to leave Melbourne and Melbourne don't want to let him go. At the moment, it's all just speculation."
The Storm are reportedly trying to balance their salary cap with multiple marquee players locked in, and coach Craig Bellamy recently acknowledged that he wouldn't "be dirty" if Munster asked to leave early. But Anasta was quick to clarify that no such request has been made, and won't be.
"One thing is for sure, I'm not shopping him to Perth. I'm not allowed to shop him to Perth, but also, I don't need to," Anasta insisted. He went on to state that Munster will be staying with the Melbourne Storm for the next couple of years, and the situation is not going to change.
