Steelers Raid Ravens' Roster, Sign Former Safety Marcus Williams

Summary
- Steelers sign former Ravens safety Chuck Clark
- Steelers host workout for ex-Ravens safety Marcus Williams
- Williams blames "miscommunication from the top down" for his struggles in 2024

In a move that further strengthens their rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed safety Chuck Clark and hosted a workout for former Ravens safety Marcus Williams.
Earlier this month, the Steelers added several ex-Ravens players to their roster, including safety DeShon Elliott and linebackers Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison. Now, they have set their sights on Williams, who was released by the Ravens in March 2022 and remains a free agent.
Williams, 28, had signed a lucrative five-year, $70 million contract with the Ravens in 2022 but struggled mightily in 2024, allowing 17.6 yards per reception and a perfect passer rating of 158.3 when targeted. In a recent interview, Williams placed some of the blame on the Ravens' organization, citing "a lot of miscommunication from the top down."

Even with the addition of Clark, the Steelers are still thin at the safety position after trading away former All-Pro Minkah Fitzpatrick last month. If they do sign Williams, they will be hoping he can recapture the form that made him a valuable asset earlier in his career, rather than the player he was in 2024.
