The Pittsburgh Steelers executed a trade-up maneuver early on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. After failing to acquire USC wide receiver Makai Lemon in the first round, the Steelers acquired the 47th overall selection from the Indianapolis Colts. This deal involved sending picks No. 135 and No. 237 to the Colts, while also receiving pick No. 249 in return.
With the newly acquired pick, the Steelers selected Germie Bernard, a wide receiver from the University of Alabama. Bernard is expected to be a starting receiver for the team, joining DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. He is described as a well-rounded player with long-term potential as a No. 2 receiver.
