St. Mary's Colgan football is embarking on a new season with Stu Jeck taking the helm as head coach. The Panthers are working to establish consistency and progress under new leadership. Last year, the team achieved a 10-1 record and a deep postseason appearance, falling narrowly in a competitive game.
The team faces the challenge of replacing key offensive player Klayton Adamson, a standout running back who graduated. Despite this loss, there is significant enthusiasm for the current roster and the team's future.
Senior quarterback Will Schremmer expressed confidence, stating the team's goal is to improve weekly and peak for the playoffs. They aim to win the CNC conference and district titles, with aspirations for an extended playoff run. The Panthers kick off their season on Friday, September 4, against Girard.
