Spurs secure Marmoush on loan with future obligation

Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Manchester City to acquire forward Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian international will initially join Spurs on a season-long loan. This transfer includes a mandatory purchase clause, obligating Tottenham to pay $81.7 million (£60 million) for his services in the summer of 2027.

The arrangement is a strategic move by Tottenham to manage their substantial transfer expenditure. By deferring a significant portion of Marmoush's fee, the club aims to comply with the Premier League's Squad Cost Ratio regulations, which limit spending relative to revenue.

Spurs have already invested heavily in new signings this summer, including Sávio, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke. The club has also generated funds through player sales, such as Luka Vušković, Cristian Romero, and Djed Spence.

Marmoush, who previously played alongside Sávio at Manchester City, is expected to bolster Tottenham's depleted attacking options. He offers versatility, having played as a left winger, a striker, and at No. 9. His experience and goal-scoring record are seen as a significant upgrade for an injury-plagued squad.
