Johnson Wagner, speaking on CBS Sports' Scorecard, voiced his skepticism about either player recapturing their peak performance. He noted Spieth's distant major victory and Thomas's concentrated win record, suggesting a resurgence akin to Tiger Woods' 2018 comeback is unlikely for either. The recent major performances of both athletes are particularly concerning, with only one top-10 major finish between them since the start of 2023.
