South Coast Derby: Survival on the Line

The highly anticipated South Coast derby returns to Fratton Park on Sunday, with Portsmouth facing Southampton in a match of significant consequence for both clubs. The previous encounter between these rivals in September concluded in a goalless draw, but the circumstances surrounding this upcoming fixture demand more than just local pride.

Southampton's chances of securing a play-off spot are diminishing, as they currently trail by seven points. Meanwhile, Portsmouth is in a precarious position, sitting just one point above the relegation zone. This game is therefore vital for both sides as they battle for crucial points in their respective campaigns.
