A new recovery space at SMU will bear the name Kevin Jennings Recovery Center, confirmed by SMU Athletics following initial reports from ACC Media Days. The facility was made possible by a generous donation from SMU alumni Ann and Malcolm Holland. Expected to feature amenities like saunas and massage units, the center will support a variety of SMU athletes.
This unprecedented recognition celebrates Jennings, who is the first current college player to have a campus space named in his honor before concluding his playing career. SMU Football Head Coach Rhett Lashlee expressed his gratitude to the Holland family for their support. The announcement follows the recent launch of Jennings' Heisman Campaign, "K7NG of Dallas."
Jennings, a redshirt senior, is entering his third season as the Mustangs' starting quarterback. He has been instrumental in the team's success, including a College Football Playoffs appearance and a 14-2 regular season record in ACC play. Despite battling an ankle injury last season, he threw for 3,641 yards and 26 touchdowns, ranking second and third in the ACC, respectively.
Jennings himself expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to future athletes' success. He stated his hope that the center will provide student-athletes with the necessary resources to perform at their best. Jennings' final season at SMU is set to begin at Florida State on September 7, 2026.
