Golf's Skins Game Returns: A Black Friday Showdown
26 Nov
Summary
- The Skins Game returns this weekend after a 17-year hiatus.
- Four top golfers start with $1 million each in 'reverse purses'.
- The event will be streamed on Prime Video on Black Friday.

After a 17-year absence, the legendary Skins Game golf tournament is making a comeback this weekend, scheduled to air on November 28th, Black Friday morning. This revival aims to recapture the thrilling moments from the game's 1980s iterations. The competition will feature prominent golfers like US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, two-time major champion Xander Schauffele, and European Ryder Cup stars Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry.
The event, held at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, will introduce a 'reverse purses' format. Each of the four participating golfers will begin with $1 million, with their earnings adjusted based on their performance on each hole. The game's objective remains the same: players compete for skins on each hole, with the player winning a hole outright claiming the skin, and skins rolling over to subsequent holes if ties occur.
Producer Chad Mumm expressed his desire to bring golf back to Thanksgiving weekend, recalling childhood memories of watching the tournament. This year's Skins Game will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, coinciding with a Black Friday football game between the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles, and preceding college football matchups.
