Before his injury, Ohtani had a remarkable 1.79 ERA and 95 strikeouts over 85.2 innings pitched across 14 starts. Despite his pitching prowess, he is now exclusively functioning as the designated hitter for the Dodgers as they pursue a historic three-peat.
