20 Apr
Summary
- Seth Trimble has entered the transfer portal after his supposed final season.
- He may seek an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA.
- A new NCAA five-year rule could also grant him eligibility.
Seth Trimble's college basketball journey with North Carolina may not be over, despite expectations that the 2025-26 season was his last. On Monday, it was reported by On3 Sports that the UNC guard has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
This decision appears to be a strategic move to explore future eligibility options. Trimble could pursue an appeal for an individual extra year of eligibility. Alternatively, he might benefit from a potential new NCAA rule that could extend eligibility to a five-year period.
While the outcome of these NCAA considerations remains uncertain, Trimble's entry into the transfer portal during the open period ensures he is positioned to take advantage of any favorable rulings.
