- Jackson LaCombe replaces Jones on the U.S. Olympic hockey roster.
- Jones sustained his injury during the Winter Classic game.

Seth Jones will not be participating in the upcoming Milan Cortina Olympics due to a recent injury. The announcement was made by USA Hockey on Wednesday, confirming that the Florida Panthers defenseman is out. Jackson LaCombe from the Anaheim Ducks has been selected to fill the vacant spot on the 25-player U.S. roster.
Jones sustained a right collarbone injury during the Winter Classic game against the New York Rangers on January 2nd and has been sidelined since. He was expected to be a significant addition to a team largely composed of players from the U.S. 4 Nations Face-Off squad. LaCombe, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, brings experience from helping the U.S. secure the world championship title last year, their first since 1933. His inclusion adds another left-handed-shooting defenseman to the team, which now has six lefties and two right-handed defensemen.
The U.S. team is scheduled to commence its Olympic competition on February 12th against Latvia.
