BBC Alba Brings Serie A Soccer to UK Viewers

Serie A football matches are now available to UK viewers through BBC Alba, a partnership between the BBC and MG Alba. This development aims to leverage the current interest in Scottish football, especially with seven Scottish players featuring in Italy's Serie A this season. The decision to broadcast was influenced by the availability of sublet international rights and the desire to offer licence-fee payers added value.

Co-commentary for Serie A matches on BBC Alba will be available in both Gaelic and English. The broadcaster highlighted that this initiative provides an opportunity to engage audiences in Scotland who might not otherwise have access to such content. The initial broadcast of a Serie A match reportedly performed well, indicating a positive reception to this new offering.
