Vote Now: Section V Girls Athlete of the Week Nominees Revealed

Section V is celebrating its top female athletes with the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week poll, covering performances from June 8-14. Voting remains open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. This year's nominees showcase excellence across multiple sports, including lacrosse, track and field, softball, and golf. Lacrosse standouts include McKenna Anderson of Victor, who scored crucial goals in their fifth straight state title win, and Peyton Rothfuss from Penfield, with multiple goals in state playoff games. Track and field features Savanna Biehler and Ka'Mara Lane, both state champions in their respective events, along with Karizma Wescott who contributed to two Batavia relay titles. Softball is represented by Savannah Durham, who pitched and hit brilliantly to lead Oakfield-Alabama to a state championship. Destiny Jodoin, the reigning All-Greater Rochester Girls Golf Player of the Year, also earned a nomination for her performance at the high school state championships. The winner will be revealed on Thursday morning via Instagram.
