Upset Alert! Dragons Sting Top Seed in Semis

The Section IV Class D boys basketball championship will feature an exciting matchup between the Edmeston Panthers and the Schenevus Dragons. This contest is set for Saturday, March 7th, at SUNY Delhi.
Schenevus delivered a significant upset in the semifinals on Wednesday, March 4th, defeating the top-seeded Morris Mustangs 58-53. Allen Osborne was the leading scorer for the Dragons with 18 points. This victory avenged a previous Tri-Valley League loss for Schenevus.
In the other semifinal, the Edmeston Panthers, the second seed, showcased their strength by defeating the third-seeded South Kortright/Andes Rams with a commanding 69-37 win. Gavin Zinger scored a game-high 19 points for Edmeston.
The Panthers have previously defeated the Dragons twice this season, including a victory in the TVL playoffs.
