Seahawks QB Room Gets UFL MVP Insurance
5 Nov
Summary
- Adrian Martinez, UFL MVP, signed by Seahawks.
- Seahawks face QB depth issues with multiple injuries.
- Martinez offers insurance for injured QBs Darnold and Lock.

The Seattle Seahawks have added UFL MVP Adrian Martinez to their practice squad to address a depleted quarterback situation. This move comes as starting quarterback Sam Darnold has been sidelined due to a quad injury and a cracked rib. Drew Lock, who is slated to start, is also managing a right elbow injury that has kept him out of recent games.
Martinez, formerly with the San Francisco 49ers, earned UFL MVP honors for his stellar performance with the Birmingham Stallions. He led the team to a 6-1 record, throwing 15 touchdown passes against only 3 interceptions, and adding over 500 rushing yards. He was also named game MVP in the UFL Championship game.
With Lock's elbow injury potentially limiting his availability, Martinez could be elevated to game-day status for the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Seahawks also re-signed Jamie Sheriff to the practice squad, releasing wide receiver Malick Meiga and linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo to make room for the new additions.
