Brian Fleury takes on a new role in Seattle, bringing a strong background coaching tight ends. While new to play-calling, his impact on the tight end position is already evident. During a recent training camp practice on July 31, six different tight ends and fullbacks achieved receptions of 20 or more yards. The following day, August 1, saw Elijah Arroyo deliver an outstanding performance with three touchdowns.

The Seahawks already utilized tight ends frequently, ranking high in various personnel groupings. Under Fleury, this usage is expected to increase significantly, potentially leading to league-leading rates. Second-round pick Elijah Arroyo, entering his second NFL season, is particularly poised to benefit. His rookie year was hampered by injury, but talent evaluators believe he possesses significant playmaking ability that Fleury aims to unlock.

Fleury's previous success with George Kittle on the San Francisco 49ers, where Kittle amassed 260 catches for 3,519 yards and 32 touchdowns over 57 games, highlights his ability to develop elite tight end talent. Backup Jake Tonges also contributed 34 catches for 293 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2025 while Kittle was sidelined, demonstrating Fleury's impact across the position group.
