Scotland Rugby Coach Resigns for Family Reasons

Sione Fukofuka has stepped down as Scotland's head coach, citing compassionate grounds related to family matters. The Australian coach cited the strain of being away from his family in Australia and his wife's parents' ill health as reasons for his departure.

Fukofuka expressed that the demands of the role made it impossible to continue without his family present. He thanked Scottish Rugby for their understanding, acknowledging the balance between his professional career and personal life. The organization's performance director, David Nucifora, expressed full respect for Fukofuka's decision.

In the interim, forwards coach Dave Butcher will assume head coaching duties. He will lead the Scotland team through the WXV Global Series in September and October. This series includes matches against Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
