On Sunday, May 31, Saskatoon will host the 48th annual Saskatchewan Marathon, a renowned event that has become a significant fixture in 'The Bridge City.' This marathon is more than just a race; it's a community-building experience that draws participants from across Canada and globally, largely due to its status as a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The event, presented by the Saskatoon Road Runners Association, has seen remarkable growth since its inception in 1979 with 66 registrants. In 2025, it achieved record-breaking participation, attracting over 6,000 runners. Participants can select from multiple race categories, including the Family Focus Eyecare 2K, Craven SPORT Services 5K and 10K, Eb's Source for Adventure 21.1K, and the Brainsport 42.2K marathon.
This year's marathon is dedicated to supporting trail infrastructure and nature conservation along the race route. All proceeds generated will be directed to the Meewasin Valley Authority, an organization committed to fostering healthy, sustainable, and accessible use of the Meewasin Valley. Registration for the marathon is now available on its official website.
