Saratoga Springs boys' golf team has captured the Section 2 Class A championship, completing a remarkable 'triple crown' season. This achievement includes going undefeated, winning the Suburban Council title, and now clinching the team sectionals. Sophomore Francisco Cupp was instrumental in the victory, earning Class A medalist honors with a score of 1-under-par 71.
The Blue Streaks finished their regular season with a perfect 15-0 record and an 11-0 standing in the Suburban Council. Their dominance continued into the conference tournament, which they won by 19 shots. This season's success marks a significant milestone, as previous talented teams had not managed to achieve the 'triple crown' in coach Jake Zanetti's seven years with the program.
In Class B sectionals, Mohonasen secured the team title by two shots over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Ryden Klatt of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake was the Class B medalist with a 71. Saratoga Springs will send four golfers to the state tournament in June: Cupp, Michael Hakewell (76), Cole Whitman (77), and Eliott Meyers (77).
