Rugby Legend Returns to Save Salford's Legacy

Ryan Brierley, a former captain and lifelong supporter, has returned to Salford to spearhead a new phoenix club dedicated to preserving the city's 152-year rugby league history. Brierley has resigned from his playing career at Oldham to take on the role of chief executive for the newly formed entity. The Phoenix Bid consortium's successful acquisition of a Rugby Football League license paves the way for this revival.

With the 2026 season now in planning, Brierley is committed to delivering a community-focused future for Salford rugby league.
