Saints Fans Embrace Futility: Expect Continued Losing in 2026
9 Aug
Summary
- Saints superfan declares team will be "ass again in 2026"
- Other struggling NFL teams like Browns, Jets, and Titans also expected to be terrible
- Arch Manning, grandson of Archie Manning, will not enter 2023 NFL Draft

In the wake of former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning's announcement that his grandson, Texas QB Arch Manning, will not be entering the 2023 NFL Draft, there has been a range of reactions from NFL fans. However, one group that seems to have the perfect response to this news is the Saints fanbase.
Several teams are currently in contention to be the worst in the league this season, including the hapless Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans, as well as relative newcomers to perpetual losing like the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, and New York Giants. But it appears the Saints fans are the most confident that their team will land Arch Manning - one way or another.
Saints superfan Jonathan Barnes took to social media and boldly declared that it won't matter if the Saints are terrible in 2025, as they can expect to be just as bad in 2026. "We gonna be ass again in 2026 too buddy. We can do this all day," Barnes proclaimed.
Other Saints fans mostly agreed with Barnes' assessment, while fans of other struggling teams tried to get in on the joke as well. One Browns fan quipped, "Cleveland Browns say: 'hold my beer,'" while a Cowboys fan even suggested trading star QB Dak Prescott to the Saints in exchange for a 10-piece chicken nugget meal and a first-round pick.
The reality is that finding a franchise quarterback is the key to sustained success in the NFL. Teams without a top-15 or even top-20 QB are often expected to be picking near the top of the draft, and the Saints will likely be in that position for the foreseeable future as they search for Drew Brees' long-term replacement.
