AS Saint-Étienne has confirmed the signing of Jakob Breum, a 22-year-old Danish U21 international. Breum joins Les Verts from Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles for a reported fee of €3 million. This acquisition marks a significant move for Saint-Étienne as they aim for promotion back to Ligue 1.
Breum, who has six caps for the Denmark U21 team, will wear the prestigious No. 10 shirt. He has committed his future to the club by signing a deal that extends until the summer of 2030. Last season, Breum was part of the Go Ahead Eagles squad that competed in the UEFA Europa League.
During his time with the Dutch side since joining in 2023, Breum made 105 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 17 assists. He is the second player to be recruited by Saint-Étienne this summer, following the arrival of Sohaib Nair. The club is demonstrating ambition in the transfer market despite potential departures.
