Bey's Career Night Powers Pelicans Past Jazz

Saddiq Bey erupted for a season-high 42 points, including a decisive 14 points in the fourth quarter, to guide the New Orleans Pelicans to a 129-118 win against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night at the Delta Center. This victory extended the Pelicans' dominance over the Jazz to six consecutive matchups and was the team's third straight win. The Pelicans achieved a season-high 37 assists, contributing to their potent offensive display.

Bey's remarkable scoring feat was complemented by strong performances from teammates Zion Williamson, who added 20 points, and Dejounte Murray, who nearly recorded a double-double with 17 points and nine assists in his second game back from injury. The Pelicans, now 2-0 with their current starting lineup, are also 3-0 since interim coach James Borrego inserted DeAndre Jordan into the center position. They led by as many as 27 points before the Jazz mounted a late challenge, but Bey's clutch play sealed the win. The Pelicans are off to a strong start on their six-game road trip, improving to 5-2 over their last seven games. They are scheduled to face the Jazz again on Saturday before heading to Los Angeles to play the Clippers on Sunday, followed by games against the Lakers, Kings, and Suns.
