Saban Welcomes Seminoles QB's Trash Talk Ahead of Blockbuster Matchup
30 Aug
Summary
- Seminoles transfer QB Thomas Castellanos trash-talked Alabama ahead of their game
- Castellanos said Alabama won't have former coach Nick Saban to "save them"
- Saban responded with a joke, saying he's there to "save you all"
- Saban embraced the trash talk, saying he loves when someone challenges his team's manhood

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Florida State/Alabama football matchup, the big news was the trash-talking of Seminoles transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos. Castellanos made comments disparaging the Tide, saying they won't have former head coach Nick Saban to save them anymore.
When asked about his remarks again, Castellanos doubled down on his criticism of Alabama. However, one person who has not been known as a trash talker, even as a head coach, is Saban. Yet the legendary Alabama coach had an interesting response to Castellanos' taunts.
"I'm not there to save them. I am here to save you all," Saban joked during an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay. When asked about how he felt regarding Castellanos challenging the Tide's manhood, Saban's response was simple: "Bring it!" The Alabama coach went on to say, "I always use it. I loved it when somebody said something like that."
This is not the first time a team has trash-talked the Tide before a game, as Vanderbilt's Nifae Lealeo did the same in 2017. But Saban seems unfazed, embracing the underdog role and welcoming the Seminoles' quarterback's boasts ahead of their highly anticipated matchup.
