The Rutgers Scarlet Knights women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding 17-7 performance against the Hofstra Pride this past Saturday at SHI Stadium. Rutgers controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting Hofstra 35-22 and dominating the second half with a 10-5 scoring advantage.
Veteran player Caroline Ling was instrumental, matching her career high with seven points from five goals and two assists. Senior attacker Lily Dixon etched her name in the program's history, surpassing the previous record with 94 career assists after dishing out five in the game. Freshman Kate Theofield added a career-high four goals, continuing her scoring streak in every game this season.
Rutgers' dominance was further highlighted by Katie Buck's record-breaking 14 draw controls, a new program single-game best. Goalie Simone Koryszewski made seven saves in the first half, shutting out Hofstra during the second quarter. The Scarlet Knights will now prepare for their first road game of the season against the Temple Owls.
